An Update from Robert E. Whitley, President of USTOA on the Far & Wide Bankruptcy
Dear Consumers and Travel Agents:
On Monday, November 21, after several months of contested hearings, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida approved the Joint Plan of Reorganization for Far and Wide as submitted by the Creditors’ Committee and the USTOA. The Plan was principally opposed by certain former officers and directors of Far and Wide, who will be the subject of litigation claims to be brought under the terms of the Plan. The USTOA believes that this ruling was an important step towards facilitating a recovery for creditors of Far and Wide, including the claims held by consumers who are owed money by the company. These claims can now be brought pursuant to the terms of the Plan in the very near future.
We will continue to keep you updated about the developments.
Sincerely,
President
